IAdventure Time was described by the New York Times as "this animated epic, which ends on Labor Day after 10 seasons, is one of the visual and artistic wonders of the last decade, a gorgeously lacquered jawbreaker with a bittersweet center." Despite the childish art style, bizarre characters, and kaleidoscopic nature, Adventure Time was very emotionally real. I was sad to see the show come to an end, and wanted this quilt to be a nostalgic tribute to the "early days". All of the characters I chose to include appear in the early seasons of the show.
Technically speaking, this quilt is made from over 1,000 pieces of appliquéd fabric. The fabric pieces were each cut on a Cricut cutting machine. I free-motion machine quilted it using 100wt thread in raw-edge style. The outlines are painted with acrylic.
