Family of Loons

Family of Loons was the third picture in my college thesis.

I have always loved how baby loons ride on their parents' backs. My intention with this picture was to capture that moment.

This picture was a bit of an experiment. I had never before attempted to create both the background and foreground out of a single piece of fabric. I ended up dying white muslin cloth to create the illusion. It turned out to be an excellent way to blend the water and the sky, creating a misty lake.
