Transition Year

2017 - 2018

For a period of 18 months, from the beginning of 2017 through the summer of 2018, my artistic process underwent a major transformation. Before 2017, all of my fabric pictures were created entirely by hand, from the initial drawing to cutting the fabric and fusing the pieces into a finished artwork. By the end of the summer of 2018, I was designing my work on the computer, using a machine to cut my fabrics, and sewing my artwork into art quilts. The artwork in this gallery, arranged in reverse chronological order, documents my metamorphosis during this transition year.
