The most-requested blog topic from last year's survey was about my tools: Anything and everything I use in my studio to make my art. There are lots and lots of things I use for every quilt, so I've split this topic into four separate posts. This first post is all about my computer, my sewing machines, and the extra stuff that goes with them.
The blog posts in this series will include:
- Computer and Sewing Machines (this post)
- Sewing Tools
- Storage and Organizers
- Cricut Supplies
- Lights and Suspension System
Sewing Machines and Tables
I use one domestic machine for embroidery, bindings, and all other general purpose sewing needs. I also used to use this machine for free motion quilting, but the Q20 has replaced that function.

My Q20 is now my designated FMQ machine.

Computer
My Tasmanian II sewing table doubles as my computer table. My computer has its own cabinet on the right side of the table and is connected via dock and extra-long display port cables to the monitor floating above the desk. The monitor arm supporting the monitor allows me to rotate it to face any direction, which is beneficial when working around the room.
